The Bath Festival brings the vibrant world heritage city of Bath alive over a period of 10 days which culminates in the Bath Festival Finale Weekend. The festival showcases some of the finest talents in the arts with a programme that boasts a bill of international musicians, speakers and writers.

Mr Florista was honoured to be involved in the Bath Festival Finale Weekend. We designed and built a colourful arch installation created with real flowers, which proved to be a huge hit with festival-goers.

If you would like to support your local festivals and enable young people to become empowered and engaged with their community there are many ways you can help:

The Positive Planner is the home of the original mindful gratitude journal that encourages mental wellbeing through the use of positive affirmations, daily reflections and mindfulness activities.

The Positive Planner is the brainchild of Ali and Finn, two women on a mission to break the stigma around mental health. The ladies both have experiences with mental health themselves. Ali suffered with post-natal depression, and Finn suffers with anxiety and depression. Ali was shocked at how little support was available and started using journaling to support her recovery. It was this that inspired the idea for the Positive Planner. Finn connected with Ali through social media after taking an interest in her ideas and the pair haven’t looked back since.

The Positive Planner is a traditional journal meets DIY therapist, with sections dedicated to daily reflections, a weekly mood tracker and mindfulness activities as well as everyday organisational extras such as meal planners and shopping lists. It is designed to be a one-stop-shop for organising yourself and most importantly improving your mental health and wellbeing.

Here at Mr Florista we love the work Ali and Finn are doing to start a conversation around mental health. We think it’s great that the ladies are pushing the Positive Planner movement to become a symbol of solidarity and acceptance for what is often seen as a taboo subject.

We wanted to continue the conversation and shout about all the amazing work they are doing on their journaling journey by helping others through their inspirational and down right cool little yellow book. Forget your i-pad, this is THE must-have mind pad (see what we did there!)

If you would like to find out more about Ali and Finn and their Positive Planner go and check out their website where you can also purchase your very own journal.

Our individual nomination this month was given to Lucy Baker who was nominated by her friend. She had some lovely things to say about her…

“Lucy is my absolute hero. We met the first year of University in Bath and have been like sisters for almost ten years. She is such a superwoman holding down multiple jobs being a professional photographer, a part-time nanny, a barista at society cafe, a uni student at Bath Spa doing a post graduate certificate in education and working a placement at a primary school. Throughout all of this she still has time for everyone else in her life and is always there whether its for a laugh, a shoulder to cry on, or to cook up an incredible brunch! She has had a tough time lately but is still managing to find positives and smile. Thank you Lucy for being a great friend.”
